hikking to meet the Patabamba's community

This hike of 2 days, of medium difficulty allow you to have a meeting with the local people of different communities such as Patabamba (Quechua name that means plain), who still maintain their customs and traditions. Then explore the archaeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo (small Cusco), located on a plateau at an altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level, with a splendid view of the Sacred Valley and the mountain range in front, historically known as home of Inca Wiracocha (the creator of the world).

Day 1: Cusco - Patabamba

In the morning we start in a vehicle to the community of Patabamba. On road we will visit the ceremonial center of Zone X, which is located at 8 km from the city of Cusco. It was a place to made offerings and rituals to Pachamama or Mother Earth; from here, we can distinguish channels Inca hydraulic systems, traditionnal legacies that are in harmony with the great diversity of flora and fauna that embellish the landscape; then we get to the first viewpoint of Cusco. From here we will go to the village of Corao; then continue hiking and enjoy the lagoons of Quelhuacocha (in Spanish lagoon Andean gulls) and Qoricocha (Golden lagoon), mostly enjoying fauna with birds that live there, as the huallatas (an Andean jard) jacachus (pic-greens) among others; we can also observe pastures of llamas, alpacas, sheep during the journey. Finally, in the afternoon, we arrive to the community of Patabamba, where you will be greeted by a warm welcome, with music and typical clothes. After the welcome, we will present the families that we welcome in their "houses-housing" and we enjoy a hot mate with Andean herbs (coca muña ...). After settling in the rooms, we meet in the dining room for dinner with family.

Day 2: Patabamba – Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay - Cusco
Early in the morning, after the breakfast with the family. You can enjoy craft activities of the inhabitants. After that we start hiking to the archeological group of Huchuy Qosqo; the way you will see the inter-Andean valleys, own the Quechua area, with beautiful towers of the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas. By mid-morning, we will take a typical snack where we will rest.

Continuing, we will go through an Inca road, which is also part of the network Q'apac Nan, who at the time of Tawantinsuyo that will lead us towards the Antisuyo. At midday, we will rest and we will have our box lunch. We will continue to reach the archaeological remains of Huchuy Qosqo; where we will use this legacy built by the Incas. We descend to reach the community Huchuy Qosqo, the way we can enjoy the flora and Andean fauna unique to the region and the village of Lamay. From here transfert by bus to Cusco or in option continue to Ollantaytambo to cash the train to go to Machupicchu.
