Tambopata

Tambopata is the name of the river that joins Puerto Maldonado, but it is also a reserve.

This national reserve was created in 1990 and covers an area of 1480 million hectares. It is south of the Madre de Dios department, and about 30 minutes from Cusco.

Here you can observe rare animal groups such as giant otters, tigers, anacondas ... Great diversity with 590 different species.
