Picturesque village with a large colonial church facing the Andes. Church open only until 11am on Sunday morning for the Mass. At the gates of Maras are two magnificent sites, Les Salines of Maras and Moray.
Saline, amazing website and an incredible show. Nearly 4000 crystallized salt basins are hewn where the salty river flows. The oldest date back to the Incas. If you can come in the week you will see families working there. Located about fifty kilometers from Cusco, Maras is 3 300m above sea level. They produce between 160 and 200 tons of salt per year.
