
Ausangate
The Mont Ausangate (6 385m) is part of the Cordillera Vilcanota, a chain of impressive mountains which also houses three other peaks above 6,000 meters.
From the top of that mountain, a magnificent landscape of the mountains, hot springs, snow peaks, turquoise lakes, herds of llamas, glaciers and many other venues, lovers of walking and trekking. This sacred mountain is the largest of Cusco and the Altiplano. Apu is the name given to the sacred mountains in the Andes that is why it is called like this.
Mountain little known but yet one of the largest Inca empire.
Tradition: between May and June every year, takes place Qoyllur party Riti (Snow Star). Thousands of pilgrims come to the base of Qolkke Punku to go home with large blocks of ice past a picture of Jesus drawn on a rock is 4900 meters.
